If you want window measurements for blinds, both inside and outside mount blinds require separate approaches. You should follow these steps for measurement.
Inside Mount Blinds
- Measure your window frame’s depth.
- Then measure your window’s width and use the smallest of 3 numbers.
- Measure the window height and use the smallest or the largest number, based on your blinds or shades.
- Give the measurements to the manufacturer without making any deductions.
Outside Mount Blinds
- Measure the width and include at least 1½” on both sides.
- Measure the height from where your blinds will hang down to the window sills. Leave 1½” - 2” for your blinds’ mounting hardware.
- Again, give the measurements to the manufacturer without making any deductions.
- Clean larger dust and debris with a vacuum.
- Use a soft cloth and soapy water for sashes and frames.
- A glass cleaning solution and a paper towel can efficiently clean the glass.
